    This is a permutation with repetition question (like arranging the letters in “MISSISSIPPI”). To prevent over-counting, we divide by factorials over all repeated colors. This yields

    (8+4+5)! / (8! 4! 5!) = 17! / (8! 4! 5!) ways.
